The COVID-19 pandemic is a nightmare for Indonesia. The pandemic has attacked all parts of the world has put the world citizen, especially the Indonesian people, on the brink of despair. The difficult and uncertain conditions finally made Indonesia fall into the brink of recession, right on the week of early November after two consecutive contractions in Indonesia’s economy.
In the third quarter of 2020, Indonesia’s economy was minus 3.49%, continuing the economic pace in the second quarter of 2020 which was recorded at minus 5.32%. If the recession is not immediately handled by the Indonesian government, the people will suffer the consequences.
The impact that might occur if this condition is not taken seriously is a reduction in employment opportunities, in the future there will be more workers in Indonesia who are unemployed due to layoffs (PHK).
